Around two years ago, the beginning of Selworthy Road (by the junction of Winsford Road) SE6 by the Bellingham Play Park, had some heavy-duty roadworks taking place involving a lot of equipment. Following this, the owners of 'DSP Paving & Ground Works Limited' based at 74 Winsford Road have used the side gate of their property and Selworthy Road as an outside storage area for their equipment. <br/><br/>Initially using Highways Agency signs, now bollards, they have a permanent large-scale shipping container, branded van and private car constantly on the road, blocking the road and cycle lane on two corners. There is also a personal CCTV camera on the house pointing out onto the container which can lead one to assume there are goods of value being stored there.<br/><br/>Our group has seen a number of people coming around the corner have near misses as an obstacle of this size is not expected on a blind corner. Not only does this cause a potential hazard/danger, it also restricts the amount of parking available to local residents and users of the park, plus also degrades the road surface.<br/><br/>Of course, if this is in some way allowed it would be good for us to know why, or if it is official Highways or council business then fair enough, but if it is not, then with everyone back out on the streets now it needs to be removed immediately.
